Preparation for your advisor meeting

Preparing your advising appointment:

• Contact your academic advisor to schedule your advising appointment
• Completed the Information Sheet for Preparing a Meeting with Academic Advisor before your meeting
• Attend the appointment on time
• Take an active role in your advising session by being prepared to discuss your goals and educational plans
• Fill out the form “Personal Worksheet for Senior Year Entrants” and send it to your advisor prior to meeting with your advisor

Discuss the following items with your advisor:

1. the courses you should take to graduate on time
2. your prospects for internships, research or employment
3. your personal hardships (e.g., financial distress, emotional problems, learning difficulties, conflict in a relationship etc.)
4. your future plans (career development, taking professional exams, further studies, work aboard)
